About

I’m a pastor, a dad, a musician, a poet and an avid baseball fan. I like Charlie Parker, Charlie Mingus, Charles Schultz, Parker Posey, Pokey Reese, Reese’s Pieces and Jack Bauer.
I like comments. I like to argue. But most of all I like to look at stuff that drives me crazy and hear you respond. Let’s see how this goes.

Mark,
I’m sitting at my desk thinking about you and loneliness and parents getting old and ill and eventually dying. Two weeks ago my sister in Kansas City was sitting in the hospital with her mother-in-law just like you are. She was processing through the same things you are with her husband. It was actually his step-mother but she had married Jim’s dad after her best friend (his mom) had died and raised all three of her kids. She did some things well and some not so well but Jim loved her and was not really prepared for her to die. When the Dr. called and said for them to get back to the hospital, Jim went to get his father and told him to think about what they both wanted to say to her.
I think that is what these times are about…..time to reflect on our life, their impact on our life and how we can move forward after they are no longer here. It’s a time to stop our craziness for a little while and listen…to our friends, siblings, and especially to God. I know you are listening! Much love to you! Cindy
